Disc C · Jul 8-9, 2002

Broadcast: Donated Tape 8C picks up directly from T8B on ESPN, Monday July 8, 2002. It covers the last innings of the RadioShack All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball game from Miller Park (Brew Crew 7, Wallbangers 4, Don Mattingly MVP), Counting Crows closing the show with 'American Girls', and about 19 minutes of that night's SportsCenter with Stuart Scott and Rece Davis (Giambi's Home Run Derby win, All-Star lineups, steroid/strike talk, Cliff Floyd rumors). After a six-second fragment of CBS's Late Show with David Letterman (Tom Hanks), the recording joins Fox's 73rd MLB All-Star Game (Tuesday July 9, 2002, taped off WFLD Fox Chicago) with one out in the bottom of the 10th. It runs through the 11th inning, Bud Selig's mid-inning ruling and the 7-7 tie, and the Fox postgame, including a cut-off WFLD 'After the Game' news tease. It then switches to ESPNEWS for the live Selig/Torre/Brenly news conference and highlights, and runs out on a SportsCenter GMC 'All-Star Report' billboard. Surviving commercial breaks are two ESPN softball breaks (RadioShack/Sprint, MLB Clubhouse Store, DirecTV) and one Fox mid-11th break (Pepsi with Sammy Sosa, Midas, KFC, Cingular, Like Mike). The recorder paused through the other breaks.
